트다 is an intransitive verb(자동사) for "be done for" or "be hopeless". So it's a little different from "screw something up". It simply describes a disappointing and hopeless situation in the past tense form. - 일 돼가는 게 오늘 끝내기는 텄다 = The way it's going, we can forget about finishing it today. - 상대팀 실력 보니까 우리가 이기긴 튼 것 같다 = Given how good the other side is, it appears we have no hope to win.
