Is it correct to write dates in this way – 08.08.-20.08.2020? Which option is correct when we write dates like period of time? 08.08.-20.08.2020 or 08.08.2020-20.08.2020

In the US we always write month, then day, then year. August 29,2020 is 8/29/2020. Or 8-29-2020 would also work. We use the slash (/) or hyphen (-), not a period (.).The slash is used very frequently. To show a time period, do this: 8/29/2020 - 8/30/2020

Don't do it the first way. The second way is fine, but you should put a space either side of the hyphen for clarity 08.08.2020 - 20.08.2020 It's also common to see a slash used: 08/08/2020 - 20/08/2020 Edit based on Margie's answer: While it's true that the US do always put the month first, it is the only country in the world to do so. If you're in the US put the month first. If you're anywhere else in the world put the date first.

The second one is more familiar and looks better to me.
