a job doing something VS a job that does something "Hopefully, they'll give me a job backstage doing something." This is the original sentence from the article I read. My question is, is "Hopefully, they'll give me a job backstage that does something" also correct?

No. That changes the subject - who/what performs the action. e.g. I got a job selling shoes = I sold shoes A job that sold shoes is incorrect because it means the job sold shoes. Of course, the job didn't sell anything. I, the salesperson, did.
