How to pronoince 2010 ? How do you pronounce the date 2010 and such in English - "two thousand and ten" or "twenty ten"? Do you have to say "the year" before it? He was born in .... ? Sorry, I meant "pronounce" :-))Thanks, Dave :-) In Russian - две тысячи десятый год. "Он родился в две тысячи десятом году".

Use "two thousand and ten"; "twenty-ten" is also understandable but sounds like shorthand. For a hundred years ago, you 'd also use "nineteen hundred and ten" or "nineteen-ten". For talking about whole decades, just use "twenty----" eg twenty-twenties, twenty-thirties etc. We still haven't agreed on how to describe the first 2 decades of a century yet, in English. (Twenty-Teens??) ;)

Either twenty ten or two thousand and ten (more usual). And in Russian?
