Can I write such a sentence? Is this a correct sentence and meaningful? Even though the light portion of my mind tries to compel the dark side to leave, but I am very frightened.

This sounds like a slightly older form of speaking English - it has a slight feeling of drama and poetry, but you wouldn't ever use it in modern English. In modern English, the phrase "even though" implies that a contradiction will soon follow ("I am very frightened") which therefore makes the "but" redundant. However I have seen similar forms of your sentence in older English texts.

"Even though the light side of my mind tries to compel the dark side to leave, I am very frightened." or "The light side of my mind is trying to compel the dark side to leave, but I am still very frightened."
