梦回大唐爱
How to understand this long sentence? The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair.

We won't get surprised if we are psychologically prepared for any loss or failure or any trouble and if we already expect that something might go wrong. However, when we are certain that we won't go wrong and that we are able to avoid trouble or deal with any problem, we'll certainly get surprised or even depressed and shocked when making a big mistake or when something goes wrong unexpectedly. We find out that it is impossible to get it back or repair it. Sometimes mistakes may be due to youth or inexperience. They may also be due to carelessness or absolute confidence that we can avoid going wrong… Whatever the reasons are, mistakes or failure may have a great impact on us. Besides, we sometimes find it impossible to get something back or put it right…

#1) "The thing that might go wrong" = When we're doing something, we expect that some problem can happen (something might go wrong). #2) "The thing that cannot possibly go wrong" = We BELIEVE/ THINK it is impossible for that kind of a problem to happen. The difference is that we expect and prepare for some problems, like #1, and we can handle those. But we don't prepare for the problems like #2 (because we think they can't happen) and, as a result, it's impossible for us to solve them when they do happen. Good advice! : )

It is simply Murphy's law, described in a rather complex way. Stated as, "Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong".

Hi Charlene. After reading it many times...I guess that the thing that might go wrong when it goes wrong...we are ready to face it cause we expected the result so we have ideas about dealing with it. But the thing that cannot possibly go wrong when it goes wrong we find ourselves facing a new probleme which we are not prepared to solve .
