Anyone ready to guide me up Mount Fuji?! I'm planning to travel to Japan sometime this month. I am unable to find any guide who would accompany me as the official climbing season only begins on the 1st of July. However, I've seen people climbing around the official climbing season without any issues. Do you know any tour guide in Tokyo or can YOU be my guide? :-)) p.s. I know I'm pushing my luck here lol @James, Thanks. As this is my first time to Japan, I would prefer someone helping me out there. I've heard that it's not easy to get last on the trail to the summit, however, as I said, this is slightly off-season, so would be better with a guide, just in case.

In summer, you don't really need a guide. Just follow the crowds (and the vending machines). However outside of the official climbing season it is more difficult because the Japanese only seem to want to climb during the official climbing season. By the way, why do you need a guide?
