There is no way to stop this from happening anyway. Noone wants to settle for less so eventually a lot of people will die of pollution-related problems. This will cause the world population to decline. Less people = less pollution. Slowly but surely the earth will recover again. Then more people will survive and slowly but surely the earth will be polluted again. Etcetra, etcetera. It's a cyclus. No big deal.

Firstly by acknowledging the sovereignty of God over His creation. Secondly by standing firm on God's promise to His creation, "While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and hot, and summer and winter, and day and night SHALL NOT CEASE." Genesis 8:22 Lastly, knowing that these things point to the imminent return of Jesus Christ: "And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; men's hearts failing them for fear and expectation of those things which are coming on the earth... and then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things BEGIN to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption is drawing close" (Luke 21:25-26, 28)
