I came here to learn the cultures but being forced into the competing circle. Some people come here for competing asking me to stay out especially the Japanese and Chinese. However, I am getting along with the English and the Spanish speaking people. Stay out in competing with the Japanese and Chinese will make them happy. Intentionally making mistakes with my English and Spanish grammars and sentence structure will make them even happier. But, I still making the contents close to 99.9% accurate. @Jonathan People is competing in aswering the most questions and getting the most correct answers

Sometimes people's reactions baffle me.I asked a question "Which person from your country do you admire most ?". If you look at the answers, and there are 10 of them, ALL have negative ratings(!), the maximum being as much as -10. I thought the question would result in promotion of positive values and people worth knowing about, but it seems to have evoked some nasty nationalistic (?) feelings. Rather than giving a minus rating, wouldn't it be more beneficial to say why you disagree or put forward some other suggestions?

@ cowboy This is the place to learn Language, the asker is doing the right thing in asking a valuable question. Learning language is not limited to the mistakes on grammar and/or sentence construction. In US, we learn English from watching movies and reading books, we have to write the summaries of the movies and book reports. Grammar and sentence construction are taught in school commencing at first grade, In ESL courses, you may notice that there are fundamental, intermediate and advance level. Here, the asker demonstrated that he is able to read and write, he is not at fundamental level. For what reason, you only favor those fundamental language learner and discriminate those whom they are in the advanced level. I know you have a heart of gold, but learning English is not limited to grammar and sentence construction. In addition, we need to learn the culture as well.
