What kind of situation for this "spare me." ?

Hi Ted. In speech you might see it used like this: A: "I'm sory I'm late for work, my bicycle had a flat tyre and I had to wait for a friend to give me a ride." B: "Spare me your excuses! Just make sure you get here on time." In a general sense, it means 'don't torment me', or even 'don't kill me'.
