What are ideal English phrases for introducing my self?

よ! It depends on who you are introducing yourself to. For example, just as in Japanese, you would most likely want to be polite with older people and say things like: Hi, my name is Akira. It is a pleasure to meet you. If you are meeting younger people, you can still be polite but keep it cool at the same time: Hey, what's up. I'm Akira. The pleasure is mine.
