Through my art. I'm Irish, my family came to America from Ireland (nobody is FROM America). I can write like an Irishman and I love writing stories. I tried painting (as my mother was so good at), sculpture, music (guitar), and through writing I am able to kill the stereotype(s) I must live with. But each one of us must find his own path through the thickets of being stereotypical, of prejudice and suspicions and let us show one another some humanity, charity and trust.

Australians are stereotyped as being lazy, happy to lie about on beaches, surf all day etc. I just point out that research shows Australians to be one of the hardest working people in the world, working very long hours.[ http://www.dfat.gov.au/facts/people_culture.html] Another stereotypical opinion is that we keep kangaroos as pets like dogs. I usually ask the person whether they keep their national mascot as a pet.
