In solving questions in life are people in your culture more likely to hold reason senior to faith?
Reason depends on alignment of new data with existing bodies of "known good" coherent "proven" data. Faith doesn't depend on any other data.

Your question suggest that people are everywhere mass brainwashed. People in any culture are not necessarily mass brainwashed, with the exception of religious states, and China. Although the USA is not mass brainwashed, there are religious groups, and even whole towns, that can be mass brainwashed. Other areas in Europe include Glasgow and Belfast.
For the rest, people are individuals, and kind of make up their ow minds regarding faith or reason.

Australia is multicultural, so some people apply logic, some apply their faith whilst others don't think at all and charge like a bull at a gate.
