As Amy said,that's its informal use.But in our formal writings we use that "د";we say "صبر کنید" in formal usages and "لطفا صبر کنین" in our colloquial usages.We have a lot of these differences between our formal and colloquial usages specially for verbs.As another example for verbs (again about that patient) we use "صبر می کنه" in our everyday usages but its formal form is "صبر می کند".Or "صبر می کنن" instead of "صبر می کنند"
