does the "of course" equate to you are welcome,when someone says "thank you"?

I can think of no instance where "of course" is the equivalent of "you're welcome" in reponse to ''thank you."

Philadelphia, 1993, stars Tom Hanks and Daniel Washington. Around 23:00 of the movie, Tom Hanks says "of course" to reply his boss, who just says "thank you". So it depends.

Kind of; not exactly. Like "sure thing", "it was nothing", "you got it"... all meaning "my pleasure".
