what's the difference between aroma and scent?

Scent= a sweet and pleasant smelling such as the smell of a perfume, incense or a flower. Aroma is a smell from substances such as food, spice, cooking etc. Be careful how you use these 2 words. We don't normally say ' the aroma of a perfume ' or ' the scent of her cooking'

Scent also is used with animals or people. "The dogs picked up on the deer's scent."
