realise on? Net profit, retained profit, retained earning ?? about business english 1. 'I realised quite early on that my state pension wasn't going to be sufficiant, so I take out a private one when I was about 30', as I know, 'realise' is a transitive verb, why it's followed by 'on' here? Does it have special meaning? 2. Net profit, retained profit, retained earning. In general, are they three the same meaning? Thx in advanced.

As far as I can see you`re right in the first case. The full synonims are "retained profit/earning", net profit means "pure"
