diference between "under" and "below"?

These words are almost always interchangeable. I can think of a few examples where it sounds better one way or another: Below sea-level NOT under sea-level Under water NOT below water Underdog NOT below dog Under wear NOT below wear Below deck (of a ship) NOT under deck under-funded NOT below funded

under and below actually arnt that different when you think about it.. it just means its beneath a different object/person
