Some Germans are fans of Rammstein.

Why hasn't anobody mentioned Die toten Hosen??!:P I vote for Rammstein, Wir sind Helden, die Ärtze and Die toten Hosen. Schieb den Wahl (by DTH) is such a pretty song!xD And it has a really cheerful video and tune!:) And if you like more heavy stuff you can check out Böhse Onkelz:) I hope this is useful!:)

Only artists that sing in German: Nina Hagen - Cool!!!! Nena - Just pop, still nice... 99 Luftballons..lalalala Kraftwerk - they had different albums in German and English Die Fantastischen Vier - Cool hiphop/rap! Marteria - More cool music! Deichkind - I love some of their songs, not all though. Bon Voyage is still geil! Palais Schaumburg (with Holger Hiller) - Avantgarde! Grünes Winkelkanu.....(sadly not anymore) How about some funny old stuff? Helge Schneider - Katzenklo, Katzenklo, ja das macht die Katze froh... Stefan Raab - Maschendrahtzaun....

Rammstein is really cool. I also love Megaherz, LaFee. I think it depends what kind of music you listen to... Schiller is kinda good, many teenagers love Tokio Hotel, Christina Stürmer is quite good, and there are many more, I only remember these right now.

There are a lot of bands, it's hard to recommend some without knowing your musical taste. Additionally to those that have been mentioned: Wir sind Helden - I like this band a lot, very interesting lyrics Juli - if you're in a sad mood Die Ärzte - good old fashioned German punk, they don't take anything seriously and make fun of everything Anett Louisan - sometimes interesting lyrics, though not the kind of music I usually hear I guess there's more. If you like 80's music, google for "Neue Deutsche Welle".
