I have been an English tutor on Italki for a little over three years now. I have some questions for those that are wanting to learn how to speak American English. How long have you studied English? What is your reason for learning English? Is it for work, school or for fun? Is pronunciation important to you or is only ‘conversational’ English important to you? For example when you speak, are full sentences more important to you than speaking clear and understandable words with correct letter sounds? When you speak with a native English speaker from the United States are you 100% sure that they are understanding each word you say or only understanding a few words that you say then just ‘assuming’ the rest. Is speaking good, clear understandable English important to you?

I have been studying english for years but I'm not gonna lie, I have no been consistent, I learn English because I can conect with more people e information everywhere, so it stared as a necessity but slowly became fun. For me pronunciation it's important but I will not get frustrated if will smile. For me feeling that I am able to speak clear and understandable words is important too. so yeah for me speaking good, clear and undertandable English is important to me.
