Hey guys! I'm an absolute beginner in Turkish. Which children books can you recommend for me? (Bilingual ones are great too!) Thank you!

Hi Sharon, I want to begin witn saying kolay gelsin. I don't know very much about children books but there is a children's channel named TRT Çocuk, you can watch it free. One of videos is here: https://www.trtcocuk.net.tr/video/elif-ve-arkadaslari-137 Everybody learns differently and I don't want to interfere your learning process but I don't think children books (or videos) would be helpful for an absolute beginner. They are only limited in words but not in grammar as even a 3 years old child knows very complex grammar of their mother tongue, all tenses, aspects, moods, question forms, suffixes, phonetics etc. Most of children books are masal (fairy tales, fabls etc.) and they have a special way of telling (they use a certain tense/aspect). I'd say one needs a teacher most when s/he is a beginner. My Japanese teacher (who was very experienced) would never let her assistants give courses at the beginner level, only for intermediate. Once you learn basics you can improve talking with a native speaker. That is said, you know the best for you. Good luck with your Turkish learning journey.
