Many career fields related to Linguistics are experiencing huge changes because of technology. The combined fields of Linguistics and Artificial Intelligence will be a great career field in the future. Computational Linguistics and Natural Language Processing also are becoming more popular because companies and governments need to process the linguistic data of consumers and citizens. These fields are also booming because of the speech revolution! People are using voice assistants, voice commands, and voice messages a lot; as a result, companies are working to resolve bias problems and develop better models of speech recognition and text-to-speech. For those reasons, I think Linguistics is going to be a great career field in the future.
