As far as I know, 'take the string' isn't an established saying so more context is needed really - as in probably the whole episode or even series - to tell us what the string is. The only guess I can make is that it means 'hoping to win (or take) the prize'. But I don't know why the prize might be referred to as 'the string'. I'm not a Bake Off viewer.

Are these meant to be correct? Or are you meant to spot the errors? 'I'm trying to get a strong infusion as possible' doesn't work, so I'm a little sceptical about the rest of it. Matt
