Shin Ye Won has taken the crown in the folk song contest show “Focus.” In the final round of “Focus,” which aired live on Mnet and tvN last night, Shin Ye Won won the title after pitting against GIFT, O3ohn and Kim Young Woong. In the first round, Shin Ye Won sang “Salmon and Stickleback (literal translation),” a self-composed song about her love for her aging parents. Afterward, in the second round, she covered Korean folk singer Han Young Ae’s “Wind” with a touch of blues. As a result of winning the show, Shin Ye Won has been awarded 100 million won ($90,453) and an opportunity to release an album. The winner was only chosen by the text messaging votes of the viewers. “I’m grateful to my family who has always been supportive,” Shin Ye Won opened up about her feelings. “I might not be perfect, but I will try my best as a professional singer from now on.” Source: Yonhap News https://theasiansculture.com/shin-ye-won-wins-mnet-show-focus/
