Could you please check the text? Helicopter survival training. Today I took a special course that I’ve heard a lot about, but never done by myself. It’s a helicopter underwater escape training, which is intended for workers who travel by helicpoter over the water to get a workplace, such as Oil and Gas platforms. Since I’m going to visit a marine platform for supervising a pipeline in-line inspection, it was mandatory to take this training. The training teaches survival skills when a helicopter is ditching on the sea, including escaping a cabin simulator when it’s inserted. I also learned group survival skills to be seen by a rescue helicopter on a water surface. I was a bit nervous before the practical part of the course expecting how challenging it´s going to be. However, in reality it was pretty easy and I successfully had done all the exercises. The fact that I swim decently and feel comfortable enough in the water definitely helped me. When I imagine how it would look like in the real life, the cold water of the ocean is frightening me. And the level of stress is going to be much higher in that case. Anyway, I´m glad that now at least I know how to behave in these scenarios. Thank you!

An exercise on English idioms and writing It's been a while Yesterday, while on vacation, I went to an English speaking club to relax through informal speaking and maybe to make friends. Because of a typo in the announcement, I mixed up the cafe, but luckily the other one was in 15 min of walk. The meeting host Katya did a good job building bridges and even offered me a free visit for my late arrival. I grabbed a second cup and we began speaking. English of B2 or more was required to attend the club. Even though the real level seemed a little lower to me, everyone spoke fluently and there was something to learn. I slightly missed the flowery language, with the best guy being an exception. That said, indeed, my tongue has also twisted a few times - I should admit that I hadn't spoken English for a year. Nevertheless, due to the holidays, my mood was roughly the bee's knees. I hope, though, that my attitude didn't take a biscuit of other people. I suppose some of them might have been snowed under at work, but all in all it passed very peacefully and pleasantly. A few times in the conversations we couldn't find the right word, and that is where we learn! Now I know that I play volleyball "in the hood", rather than "in the yard" or "in the courtyard". In the end we played Alias and our team came second to none. Well, that's no surprise, as we had "the best guy" and the host among us. Next time I'll try to ensure a more fair split. Now I wish to attend these events again and again. Hope to meet other nice people in this hive of activity, or maybe see again those whom I met today. I need to teach myself to ask for connection (at least with girlies) just in case to never miss a companion. Dear men and ladies, thanks for your attention! As for those who plan to come to "Real Talk" next tuesday, looking forward to chat with you! Toodles! Danila
