Then we will get started with the lesson!  If you are preparing for an interview or an important presentation we can focus on this.  If you are looking for general conversation and building up your confidence I have lots of topics ready to get you talking.

Get ready for fun and lively sessions which will improve your speaking level at the same time as improving your listening skills.   I am a native speaker and I aim to offer natural conversations.  My aim is to encourage my students to be confident and to just speak!  
Your trial session will help me work out your reason for learning English and the type of subjects you would like to talk about.     I will be prepared with lots of interesting ideas and resources to keep you talking and we can agree lesson topics in advance.   Some students like to watch a video or read an article in advance which we discuss in the lesson.

These sessions will not only focus on your use of the English language; I will help you to perform to the best of your availability so that you are fully prepared and ready to impress at interview.  

We will work together on possible interview questions;  I will help you to think about your transferable skills and coach you in how to speak about your outstanding achievements in a way that will really make the interviewers take notice of you.  

It's natural to feel nervous about interviews and I understand how challenging it can be if you are required to speak in a second language at an interview (perhaps for the first time!).   I can help you with this,  so that you feel more relaxed and confident and start to focus on your strengths and what you can bring to the new position.

In order to ensure that I am fully prepared for these sessions I ask that you provide me in advance with as much information about the position you are applying for as possible.  It is really helpful for me to be able to see the job description and person specification in advance of our lesson.  The price of these lessons reflect that I as the teacher will do a lot of preparation in order to help you!

INTERVIEW PREPARATION - Preparing you for success at work

Firstly, I start with asking new students an important questions.  What help do you need in using English at work?   What do you want to improve?

Then, because I love coaching my students to develop their overall skills and awareness I also like to ask the following questions:
In relation to using English in the workplace - 
-What are your challenges?  
-What is holding you back?   
-What would you like to change?  
-What development opportunities do you need?   

So, at the same time as improving your Business English I employ a coaching style in order to help you to develop a greater awareness of the possibilities and opportunities you have.

- Working internationally - understanding cultural difference in the workplace

I use a structured incremental approach to build up your presentation skills.  I welcome the opportunity for you to deliver your presentation and I will give feedback on key areas for you to work on.   Ideally we will be able to practice the presentation a few times before you deliver it.
