Study and practice using the English language as it is really used by experts!

These classes are suitable if you are trying to level up your English, with a comprehensive focus on vocabulary, grammar, comprehension skills and native phrases. Each class we'll focus on one of the many fantastic TED speeches available freely online. I'll test your detailed understanding of the speaker to ensure you aren't missing anything, and you'll have the opportunity to analyse and respond to the ideas and proposals discussed.  

Throughout class I'll be sending you detailed language feedback and notes, both corrections and suggestions based on your own personal mistakes and also highlighting useful language from the speech.

TED Curriculum (60mins)

Learn to communicate confidently and effectively in every situation, just like a native! 

Each class we will choose one topic for a highly focused discussion. The topic may be familiar for you or totally new, in either case I will challenge you to express yourself and engage with the conversation by asking questions that push you outside of your comfort zone. 

The lesson plan is simple: one topic, no grammar, no corrections. After 10 to 20 lessons, expect big improvements in your fluency and your confidence in sharing your thoughts.

Topic Discussion (30 / 45 / 60mins)

Receive detailed and highly specific language tuition and feedback acording to your needs! Resources are selected according to your requirements, including TED talks, textbooks, vocabulary lists, and other authentic materials (articles, videos, speeches, podcasts)

Custom Course (test / interview / conference / etc. preparation) (60 / 90mins)

Intensively studied methods for teaching components of language (vocabulary, grammar, function, form) as well as ways to provide practise for the 4 skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing). Applied this by planning 6 hours of my own lessons, and then analysing and reflecting on my performance with my tutors.

Tutored a small group of students throughout their final year of GCSE English Language and English Literature, aiming to bring their grades up to A* standard.
