We can talk about a topic of your choice. Whatever your interests are I will accommodate them and help you with vocabulary along the way. I will be actively correcting you (Typing corrections in chat and after you finish your sentence) and pointing out recurring mistakes, but I will do this in a way that does not disrupt your flow. The onus will be on you getting as much practise speaking as possible.

This lesson is to help you build your confidence with reading.
If you are currently reading a book in English and are unsure of your pronunciation, or you are not sure that you understand everything that is going on, I can help! In short, you will read, and I will systematically correct pronunciation errors. After we have finished a page, I will check your understanding of what you have just read and explain to the best of my ability anything that you have not understood. This technique is called "intensive reading" in the language community and coupled with "extensive reading" is a great way to expand your vocabulary.

Alternatively:
I will send you a short news article that you can read aloud to me. Then I will correct any pronunciation mistakes that you may have made, and finally, I will ask you some comprehension questions about the article to ensure that you have understood everything that has taken place.

Writing: I will send you a prompt before the lesson, and you will then have to write about the prompt in as much detail as you can muster (Usually aiming for around 200 - 300 words). Once the lesson begins, you will be able to read what you have written and we will then go over it together. Here we will fix any problems that we come across, such as word order, incorrect word usage, spelling errors, etc. I will also suggest possible vocab based on what you have written.

Read with/to me and writing improvement

We will practice past IELTS questions and I will then give my feedback on your response to those questions. We can also undertake periodic mock IELTS speaking components to better prepare you for the situation, as well as the task itself. I have been helping students either improve or pass their IELTS exams, particularly the speaking component, for many years now. I do this in a relaxed manner, but I stay 100% honest with you regarding your progress and will tell you if your goal is unrealistic - then work with you in finding an appropriate time period to aim for the exam.

I have collated a wide array of commonly asked interview questions. We will be able to go through these questions and iron out any mistakes that may occur whilst answering them. I have helped a lot of students pass their interviews by building their confidence and getting them used to possible questions.

I create media to help my students improve their English. I do this in various ways, be it by creating vocabulary videos, preposition or general grammar quizzes, or culturally relevant videos, as well as reading literary classics to help with listening skills and offer the possibility of shadowing for those who like the technique.
