This is the lesson where we'll get to know each other. We'll discuss about your language learning goals and what you want to learn. I get to know your current Finnish level and what you want to achieve. All this helps me to plan our future lessons according to your needs and interests. 

I also want that you'll actually learn something during this lesson, so I'll send you message where I'll ask about your language level and goals beforehand. This helps me to plan the trial lesson so that I can, for example, teach you some new words or grammar.

These are lessons tailored to your needs and interests. I'll use different kinds of material and learning methods (speaking, writing, grammar, music, videos, exercises, news,...). We can even have quizzes, tests or homework if you want :)

Even though this description is in English, I'll be teaching you mostly in Finnish. This will help you to learn to understand Finnish and also to get used to how Finnish sounds. I have a lot of experience from this teaching method, so you don't have to worry :)

General Finnish for all levels - Suomea kaikille

Practice speaking Finnish with me. All levels are welcome. 

The lessons will be tailored to your Finnish level and interests, but here are some examples what you could learn:

- basic everyday Finnish (basic greetings; what to say in a store/restaurant/café,...)
- spoken Finnish (puhekieli)
- watching/listening Finnish news/tv shows
- discussing about different topics (interests, work, culture,...)

YKI test is a test you can take in Finland. You can show the test certificate when you are applying to a job, study place or Finnish citizenship. The test is divided to four different tests: speaking, listening comprehension, writing and reading comprehension. We'll practice all of these categories, but if you want to mainly focus on only one or two of them, that's also alright :)

Planning a trip to Finland? Then this course is for you! You don't need to know any Finnish beforehand :)

Finnish for travelers

This is a course for beginners. You don't need to know a single Finnish word in order to participate :) 

We'll practice pronunciation, speaking, writing, listening, reading and grammar.

You'll learn for example:

- basic Finnish grammar
- numbers
- basic vocabulary

Finnish for beginners - Suomen alkeet

This is a course with a focus on Finnish culture. The course will be tailored to your level and interests, but it can include for example:

- listening to Finnish music and learning vocabulary from the lyrics
- reading about Finnish history and learning history related words
- learning about sauna
- learning about Finnish food and learning Finnish from recipes
- learning and discussing Finnish art
- learning about Moomins
