• There's always lots of speaking practice, but we also develop your writing, reading, and listening skills, along with pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary—based on your specific goals.

Conversation Classes – Flexible, Personalised, and Designed for You

These conversation classes are all about you — your interests, your goals, and your language needs. Whether you want to discuss current affairs, business, travel, art and design, culture, health, technology—or even something completely different—no topic is off-limits. 

Each session is flexible and focuses on improving fluency, accuracy, vocabulary, pronunciation, and most importantly, confidence.

You can choose your discussion topics beforehand or spontaneously on the day—whatever suits you best. However, I recommend selecting topics in advance so you can prepare a few points or questions, along with any useful vocabulary you might want to use.

I’ll give you feedback on your language as needed—sometimes during the lesson, sometimes afterwards. Any grammar or other language questions that come up can be addressed naturally during the session.

Tailored Business English: Single lessons or packages to boost speaking, listening, pronunciation, reading, writing, grammar and vocabulary

I taught General English and English for the Arts at the university.  I also developed teaching materials and ran a few teacher training workshops.

This was summer teaching only in 2011 and 2012, predominantly working with teenagers.

Teaching general English to adults, but predominantly teenagers.

I taught the Spanish teachers English for their work with tourists.  I also taught a number of under-10s.

This was a temporary springtime contract, working predominantly with teenagers.

I managed a team of teachers and volunteers, as well as teaching and teacher training.  I also organised, examined, assessed and internally verified national ESOL exams.

I liaised with local libraries, organising and delivering literacy/ESOL and I.T.  classes.

I taught business English in-company, working with companies such as CitiBank and Price Waterhouse Cooper.

I taught both general and business English during this time.

This post involved community outreach work to reintegrate stable heroin users back into the community through education, voluntary work and fitness.  It also involved teaching literacy, numeracy and I.T. skills on a one-to-one basis.

This involved starting and managing a community project to get marginalised groups back into education. I did outreach to various homeless hostels and ran classes from a local community centre (literacy/ESOL).

I started teaching online at the start of 2019 whilst living in Russia.  I teach several areas, including English for the Arts, IELTS and Business English, as well as Conversation and General English.
