I'm happy to teach kids age 6 & up who already have at least an A1 level of English, but please let me know in advance if the lesson is for a child, and tell me more about the child's experience with English (i.e. what's their reading level?) and their learning styles & challenges. Please also tell me your goals for your child before we begin.

For young children (age 6 to 8), I expect a parent to be nearby during the lesson in case of behavior or technical issues.  (溫聲提醒爸爸媽媽：陪小孩時，請讓小孩自己回答問題，不要提供答案喔😇）

For older children (age 9 & up), a parent may be present, or I'm happy to teach the child unaccompanied if they're very independent.

Let's talk! In our lessons, you'll have the opportunity to:

◊ Discuss any topic you'd like: hobbies, culture, news, social issues, etc.
◊ Practice asking questions in informal & formal ways
◊ Learn American English slang & elision ("lazy" pronunciation used by native speakers)
◊ Increase your vocabulary related to the topics discussed

In each lesson, I'll provide typed comments & new vocab you can use to review after class.

Students who plan to take the TOEFL, IELTS, GMAT, LSAT, or other tests may benefit from this lesson type, but please note that these lessons focus on confident English communication & comprehension rather than testing templates. (Templates can improve scores, but do not lead to fluency.)

My areas of expertise are particularly suited to students in social sciences, marketing, cross-cultural studies, and the humanities, and we will review skills such as:

∆ variety in tone, grammar, and vocabulary when speaking
∆ Greek & Latin roots, prefixes, and suffixes to increase advanced vocabulary
∆ conjunctions & transition phrases for better comprehension
∆ how to take better notes while reading & listening to academic topics

We may use materials from your course of study, or I can provide academic English activities for you where relevant. During each class, I'll provide typed comments in the chat & new vocabulary you can use to review, and share additional reading materials.

2. TEST-TAKERS: Last-minute studying before an upcoming test doesn't work for English! If you're planning to take a major English test in the future, give yourself from 1 to 6 months to prepare, depending on your level.

3. UNIVERSITY STUDENTS: If you're in a program with highly specialized vocabulary such as medicine or other advanced courses in STEM, I recommend you select an English teacher with expertise in your specific field.
