In this lesson we will have a conversation and find out about each other. I  would love to know what you are like, what you like to do and what your goals are with your English learning. I am sure you would like to know more about me and what kind of teacher I am.

So lets talk and see how we can work together to improve your English and have a little fun as well.

This lesson is a general conversation in English, talking about anything and everything. The focus will be on having a fun and interesting conversation and learning as we go along.

My aim will be for you to do lots of talking to help you build both ability and confidence.

Corrections are given at least every 5 minutes. If you want to focus on a particular area, this can be explored. But, please let me know if you have a particular area you would like to learn, so I can plan something fun and interesting for us to do.

Conversation English

In this lesson, we will read through an article in English. There will be a number of questions about the article which we will discuss together. The meanings of any difficult words will be discussed, and any corrections will be given after every paragraph (section). 

Once the article has been read and the questions answered, we will discuss your thoughts about what you have read.

This is a fun and interesting way for you to practice pronunciation, speaking and comprehension. It is also a great way to learn new words and improve your Vocabulary.

Reading & Speaking Lesson

The IELTS speaking test is not easy but I can help make it feel easier.

I have helped thousands of students to prepare for the IELTS speaking test, so I know how to assess your answers and also help you improve, allowing you to give the best answers possible in your IELTS test.

It does not matter how good your English currently is, we will find the best way for you to improve as we work towards your test together.

We will go over many practice questions, so you can work on getting your answers as good as they can be. I will offer lots of feedback and advice so that you can improve your answers.

IELTS Speaking Test Preparation

I will set you 2 IELTS essay questions (tasks 1 & 2), which you will complete for homework before the lesson. I will assess your essays and give you lots of feedback on how your essays could be improved. This feedback will be discussed in the lesson together.

For a 1 hour lesson, we will aim to do 30 minutes of writing feedback and 30 minutes of IELTS speaking test practice as well.

**Please send me your essays at least 24hrs before the lesson to allow me to assess them**

When assessing your writing, I will look at the same criteria that the examiner will use to mark your essay: Task achievement/response, coherence and cohesion, lexical resource and grammatical range and accuracy.

Please complete the 2 essay tasks within 1 hour and be sure not to use any spell checker or dictionary.

IELTS Writing Marking & Feedback

I completed a course to help IELTS-speaking students. I gained an understanding and experience of assessing different IELTS speaking abilities in line with the band descriptors.

This course is about teaching and assessing IELTS writing and speaking.

A 168-hour TEFL course teaching how best to teach English as a foreign language.

I did the IB Diploma, a high school leaving certificate.

HND - Maritime Studies at the university of Plymouth.

Part time English teacher, teaching teenagers A2 English and running a preparation TOEIC course for University students.

Running day courses to teach Fishermen and Sailors in order for them to pass the test to obtain a VHF Radio License.

I have worked, and am still working as a freelance online English teacher. I have helped students with many aspects of their English including; IELTS, pronunciation, grammar, conversation, reading, fluency and business English.

I love my job and love helping people to become better and more fluent in their English Speaking.

I have a number of students who come to my house and learn English with me, either in small groups or individual lessons. I help them in all areas of their English and they range from A1 to C2 level.
