This is all about getting to know each another. I will establish your level and we'll discuss your English language aims and my teaching methods. 

Time permitting, I will demonstrate two types of activities I like to use

Each lesson will involve interesting and stimulating speaking activities on a wide range of topics. You will practice several different speaking skills, such as presenting, summarising, defining, contrasting, roleplaying and more. Along the way, you will be introduced to new vocabulary, phrases and idioms, and be set homework regularly.

The skills learned in this class are valuable for IELTS and Cambridge Speaking, and for improving your English for work, travel and more. 

Please let me know beforehand if you are practicing for a test.

While the atmosphere will be quite relaxed, each lesson is planned out, not just random conversation practice. If you would like me to send you an outline of the full course, please ask :)

I will not interrupt you often. Usually I will make a note of any errors, and give you a chance to self-correct when you have finished speaking.

If the class is for a child:
a) I do not recommend classes longer than 45 mins for kids under 15, and do not recommend classes longer than 30 mins for kids under 12.
b) Please let me know the kid's level and hobbies and interest before the class
c) Unfortunately, I do not teach complete beginners.

General and Test Prep English (Adults and Kids)

A less structured, and more informal class than General and Test Prep English. We’ll talk, I’ll correct your mistakes, and you’ll get better naturally. It’s less structured than my other class, but you’ll still get clear feedback and real improvement.

Not for beginners and not recommended for children under 12.
