An interrogative sentence with a choice-type question uses “háishi 还是”(or) to connect choice A and choice B. The responder needs to choose A or B.

nǐ shì lǎo shī hái shì xué shenɡ ?
你是老师还是学生?Are you a teacher or a student?
tā xué xí hàn yǔ hái shì hán yǔ ?
她学习汉语还是韩语?Does she study Chinese or Korean?
shū diàn zài zuǒ biɑn hái shì yòu biɑn ?
书店在左边还是右边?Is the bookstore on the left or the right?
xiàn zài qù chāo shì hái shì xià wǔ qù ?
现在去超市还是下午去?Go to the supermarket now or in the afternoon?
