自転車の看板や、めがねの看板やそのほか 
いろんな看板が、あるものは新しいペンキでかかれ、
あるものは、古い壁のようにはげていましたが、
町に はじめて出てきた子狐にはそれらのものが
いったい何であるか分らないのでした。
とうとう帽子屋がみつかりました。
お母さんが道々よく教えてくれた、
黒い大きなシルクハットの帽子の看板が、
青い電燈に照らされて かかっていました。
子狐は教えられた通り、トントンと戸を叩きました。

「こんばんは」
　
すると、中では何かことこと音がしていましたが
やがて、戸が一寸ほどゴロリとあいて、
光の帯が道の白い雪の上に 長く伸びました。
子狐はその光が まばゆかったので、めんくらって、
まちがった方の手を、
――お母さまが出しちゃいけないと言って
よく聞かせた方の手を 
すきまから さしこんでしまいました。

訓読みは、むーかう

と読みます。

熟語です。
・方向ーほうこう　向いている方のこと

・向上ーこうじょう　上に向かうこと

・転向ーてんこう　立場を変えること

・動向ーどうこう　個人やグループの動きのこと

・内向ーないこう　内気なこと


例文です。

・それは逆方向に行ってると思います。
