Welcome back to All About Cats! If you love cats, this is important information for you. Today I will talk about the Feline Panleukopenia Virus (FPV), also called feline distemper or feline Parvo. This virus is very dangerous for cats, especially kittens. I will explain what it is, the symptoms, treatment, how to prevent it and my journey through this horrible virus.  Feline Panleukopenia Virus is a very contagious disease caused by a parvovirus. It attacks a cat’s intestines, immune system, and bone marrow. It spreads quickly, especially in shelters and places with many cats.
How do cats can catch FPV?
•	From an infected cat’s saliva, urine, or poop
•	Through shared food bowls, litter boxes, or bedding
•	From humans who touch an infected cat and then touch another cat
•	From fleas that carry the virus
•	Or From a mother cat to her kittens before birth
The early signs of FPV in Kittens & Cats 
•	High fever
•	Loss of appetite and
•	Lethargy ( or very tired and weak)
🚨 Severe symptoms include:
•	Vomiting
•	Diarrhea which is (sometimes bloody)
•	Dehydration
•	Belly pain
•	And Sudden death in kittens
Treatment & Care Options
There is no cure for FPV, but sick kittens need supportive care
🏥 Hospital Care may include:
•	IV fluids (to stop dehydration)
•	Medications for vomiting and pain
•	Antibiotics (to prevent infections)
•	Blood transfusion (for severe cases)
🏡 You also have Home Care 
•	Keep the kitten warm and comfortable
•	Give them small, frequent meals
•	Provide fresh water and electrolyte solutions
•	Keep the litter box very clean
•	And Avoid contact with healthy cats

Kittens & Feline Panleukopenia Virus

Japan has good public transportation.  It is very convenient except the morning rush hour. 
Today I'm going to talk about my commuter train.

私は仕事で大阪に行くとき、電車に乗ります。
家から１０分ほどのところに駅があります。そこから大阪までは２０分ぐらいです。
すぐ着きます。
朝のラッシュ時間は、１０分ぐらいの間に特急、急行、普通電車が順番に来ます。
とても便利です。
私は仕事がら、１日中立って仕事をするので、電車ではいつも座りたいと思っています。
私が電車に乗る駅は　特急が止まる駅です。特急に乗れば、大阪まで１５分ぐらいで着きます。でも、特急は混んでいるので座ることができません。だから、急行に乗ります。急行でも２０分ぐらいで大阪に着きます。
それから、地下鉄に乗ります。私が乗る地下鉄は大阪でも乗る人が多い路線です。
御堂筋線といいます。　
こちらも朝のラッシュ時間は５分おきぐらいに　電車が来ます。
私は、２駅しか乗らないので、どれに乗っても問題ありません。
でも、朝の御堂筋線を　使う人の数は　とにかく多いです。
ホームは　常に　人がいっぱいで、歩くのも大変です。
ホームは、電車を待つ人が並ぶ場所と　電車から降りてきた人が歩く場所が　分けてあります。
どんなに急いていても、みんなそこに並びます。電車が到着して、降りる人が全員降りるのを黙って待ちます。そして、もう誰も降りる人はいないことを確認したら、先頭の人から順番に電車に乗り込みます。
どんどん、どんどん　人が　乗っていきます。電車のドアの近くに立っている人は、隣の人と体が当たっています。隙間はほとんどありません。それでも、スマホを見ている人もいます。
私はこれが嫌なので、目の前に電車が来ていても、次の電車に乗ることがあります。先にのれば、電車の中ほどの少しはスペースがあるところに立つことができるからです。
こんなに混んでいるのに、文句を言う人もいません。みんな、何事もないかのようにスマホをさわっていたり、目をつぶっていたり、ただ電車にゆられていたりしています。
次の駅に着くと、ドアが開くなり、たくさんの人たちが　ポーンと押し出されるように　電車を降りて行きます。そして、それぞれの行き先に向かって　すたすたと歩いて行きます。

レジの前に来たが、レジには誰もいない。若くて長い黒髪を後ろで束ねてる男の店員Aは忙しそうに商品を補充している。

すいませんと声を出そうと思ったその時にレジの台の上にあるベルに気がついた。
そこには小さい字でご用の方はこのベルを鳴らしてくださいと日本語と英語の両方で書かれてある。

最初に私は人差し指を使って軽く押してみたが音が出ない。今度は親指を使って強く押すとかわいくて高い音が店内に響いた。

少々お待ちくださいという店員Aの声が聞こえ、彼は小走りにレジに向かってきた。


店員A  「お待たせいたしました。梅おにぎりが一つ、明太子おにぎりが一つ、以上で260円になります。袋はいかがなさいますか？」

私「いらないです。支払いはパスモカードでお願いします。」

店員A「はい、こちらにお願いします。」

彼はカードを近づける場所を右手でていねいに指した。
私はパスモカードをレジ台にかざして支払いをした。

店員A「ありがとうございました。」

私は店員から二つのおにぎりとレシートを受け取ると自分のカバンに入れた。店内を見回すと客は私だけのようだ。それから店を出ると男が一人店の前の横に座っていた。

Last time ↓ With sweaty hands, I held one cod roe and one plum rice ball and headed for the cash register. 

I come to the cash register, but the cash register is empty. Clerk A, a young man with long black hair tied back, was busily restocking. 

I was about to say, "Excuse me," when I noticed a bell on the checkout table. In small letters, it says in both English and Japanese, "Please ring this bell if you need anything. 

First I pressed it lightly with my index finger, but no sound came out. I pressed harder with my thumb, and a lovely, high-pitched sound echoed through the store. 

I heard the voice of clerk A saying, "Please wait a moment," and he came to the cash register at a short run. 

Clerk A - Thank you for waiting. One ume rice ball and one cod roe rice ball will be 260 yen. Would you like a bag?" 

I said, "No, I don't need one. Please pay with your PASMO card." 

Clerk A: "Yes, this way please." 

He carefully pointed with his right hand where I should put my card. I held my PASMO card over the cash register and paid. 

Clerk A "Thank you very much." 

I took the two rice balls and the receipt from the clerk and put them in my bag. I looked around the store and saw that I seemed to be the only customer. Then I left the store and saw a man sitting next to the front of the store.
