Descrição
Malayalam has two I's, and choosing the right one is the key to talking about feelings. This is the Manglish edition of Class 8, taught through romanised Malayalam alongside the script. Njaan is the doer; enikku is the one a feeling happens to. You learn feelings with enikku, hunger and thirst with the -unnu ending, the aayi test (can other people see the change?), why enikku cheyyanam sounds more natural than njaan cheyyanam, and a five-mistake error clinic. Words and phrases in this class: ഞാൻ (njaan) – I (the doer) എനിക്ക് (enikku) – to me (the experiencer) എനിക്ക് സന്തോഷം ആണ് (enikku santhosham aanu) – I'm happy ദേഷ്യം (deshyam) – anger പേടി (pedi) – fear വിഷമം (vishamam) – sadness, distress എനിക്ക് വിശക്കുന്നു (enikku vishakkunnu) – I'm hungry എനിക്ക് ദാഹിക്കുന്നു (enikku daahikkunnu) – I'm thirsty എനിക്ക് ചായ ഇഷ്ടമാണ് (enikku chaaya ishtamaanu) – I like tea ഞാൻ റെഡി ആയി (njaan ready aayi) – I got ready എനിക്ക് മനസ്സിലായി (enikku manassilaayi) – I understood എനിക്ക് മനസ്സിലായില്ല (enikku manassilaayilla) – I didn't understand എനിക്ക് പോകണം (enikku pokanam) – I must go എനിക്ക് ഇഷ്ടമല്ല (enikku ishtamalla) – I don't like it In this class: • The golden rule: njaan for doing, enikku for what happens to you • Feelings, hunger, thirst and liking, all built on enikku • The aayi test: a visible change or an inner arrival • Necessity with enikku, and the five-mistake error clinic Quizzes below.
