If I could see the future, the thing I’d most like to know is what my future job will be. If I knew what I was going to do in the future, I would only focus on studying subjects in that field. This would mean that I could prevent myself from wasting lots of time in irrelevant fields. (Of course, all those empirical efforts, including unrelated studies, could still help me to find my future job.)
