Could someone estimate my essay? It is pointless making children who lack artistic talent learn painting and drawing in Art classes at school. Instead, they should concentrate on other creative or particular subject for which they may have more aptitude. To what extent you agree or disagree. Many people think there is no sense in attending Art classes at school for children, who do not have a considerable talent for painting and drawing, while others challenge this assumption. In my opinion, children should not put all their effort into Art classes if they feel they are not good at Art, but instead focus on other subjects where they will be more productive. A lot of schools around the world include subjects like music, drawing, painting in their curriculum. From my point of view, in many cases it turns out to be a waste of time because there is no point in making children do something they have no aptitude for. For example, though, in my school, music and drawing were compulsory, nobody in my class liked singing or drawing, because we found those lessons useless. Undoubtedly, if we had had an opportunity to make a choice between creative subjects we would have chosen something like IT or woodworking lessons, where we could have gained maximum benefit from them. On the other hand, some researches show Art class can surely help. According to their individual talents, students are likely to develop skills through music and drawing lessons, which contribute to boost their academic performance. For example, music lessons have a good impact on memory, planning and thought expression, while drawing lessons improve visual and spatial memory, attention and patience. To conclude, if children have lack of artistic talent for drawing or painting, there is no point in persuading or encouraging them to continue doing that. The better solution will be to pay attention to other creative subjects, where pupils are likely to reveal their hidden talent.
