Like, to buy your fly, bus, or train tickets, pick up your documents (id, passport, driver's licence). After that, you can put in your to-do list the things you need in your suitcase.

For me, a better / the best way to be prepared for a trip is to make a to-do list. You can organize everything you need into categories to do before your trip. Like, to buy your flight, bus, or train tickets, pick up your documents (id, passport, driver's licence). After that, you can put into your to-do list the things you need in your suitcase.
