When you scratch something, you lightly graze a surface in a narrow line and you may or may not remove a superficial layer from the part of the surface that you're scratching. When you scrape something, you apply more pressure over a wider area and you always either remove something that's adhering to the surface and/or part of the top layer of the surface itself.

Hey there! "To scratch" and "to scrape" are pretty similar, but there are some nuances. Both involve removing something from a surface, but "scratch" often implies a more deliberate action, like using your fingernails to mark or damage the surface. "Scrape," on the other hand, suggests a broader range of actions using a tool or an edge to remove something, like using a scraper to get paint off a wall. So, scratching is a bit more specific, and scraping is a bit more general.
