The meaning of this festival celebrated by lighting sky lantern, called khom loy, in honour of Bhutta and releasing them simultaneously into the night sky. In addition, Thailand, December is a time to give thanks for a good agricultural harvest and crop. This event is Kom Loy festival. The Khom Loy festival was born out of two traditional events. The first is Loi Krathong to give thanks for the blessings of the river, and the second is the Sangsai festival to give thanks to the Buddha in heaven.
