He says I'm glad of you
What can I say?

Question

He says I'm glad of you
What can I say?

Answer

Perhaps it was "I'm glad to meet you." In that case you would say "I'm glad/pleased to meet you too."
If it was "I'm glad because of you" Then there would be several answers depending on the situation.

Answer

You can say thank you!
His sentence is not perfect English, but it is clear he is trying to say something positive.

Answer

If you aren't sure what he means, you could say something generic and slightly dismissive, like "cool" (optimistic) or "no worries" (calming).

If you think he means "I'm grateful for your presence" then you could still say "cool" or "no worries"; or even "excellent". You could also say the cliché phrase "you're welcome".

I elaborated on tonal issues in my last reply but it got me banned so I'll keep it simple this time. Let's see if this works...

Answer

It depends on the context, because that phrase is unclear without knowing the background context.

If you aren't sure what he means, you could say something generic and slightly dismissive, like "cool" (optimistic) or "no worries" (calming).

If you think he means "I'm grateful for your presence" then you could still say "cool" or "no worries"; or even "excellent" (said cheerfully with a straight face, it can politely & optimistically reciprocate the sentiment). You could also say the cliché phrase "you're welcome" although it can be slightly patronising so it's unlikely to be my first choice of reply personally.

If he just means "thank you" (for a simple good deed or gift) then you can say "no worries" (a safe, general, dampening phrase) or "no problem" (almost as safe) or "you're welcome" (cliché and risks being patronising - it's less humble and more proud - but is very common so is most likely to be fine) or "thank you too" (if he did something for you also, such that it was a mutual exchange - it's a very kind and polite response in that case).
