AI and robot technology has been developing at a dramatic rate(developing by leaps and bounds), and several jobs are under pressure of becoming redundant. I'd say the typical examples are cashiers, drivers and customer service positions because of the repetitive nature of the work and emerging applications. It is not rare for supermarkets to have only a few(handful of) cashiers now. Smart checkers assist customers to check-out and pay for the items there. Similarly, there will be many self-driving automobiles with AI in the near future. Governments and related industries, such as logistics and insurance have been working on the road regulation changes in preparation for the introduction of autonomous cars. Another potential opening for AI and robots is customer service work involving simple, repetitive tasks. Chat bots have been adopted by many companies to answer customer inquiries on the webpage day and night. Voice recognition improvement will enable AI call centres soon. "Redundant" is a better choice here. It means the job is no longer needed or required. It has become obsolete. "Autonomous vehicles" are self driving vehicles incorporating AI technology.
