As I mentioned before, it has been said so far that electric vehicles[EV] is one of the most suitable candidates as the next generation vehicles. However, I came across an article online the other day that people all over the world started questioning their feature which is eco-friendly lately. Many people already know that EVs have some problems such as expensive price tag, short driving range and long charging time. On top of that, a very famous car maker "Volvo" reported the other day that carbon emissions from making EVs can be 70% higher than petrol engine vehicles. If batteries for EVs are worn out, it seems like they are having trouble throwing out because they have many harmful substance. That's why the demand for EVs across the world just started declining. On the flip side, hybrid electric cars started drawing a lot of attention these days. In Japan, many people already use hybrid electric cars. That's because they not only can save gas expenses but also have eco-friendly performance. They also can run long distance distance and it takes only a few minutes to fill up with gas. In the U.S, the domestic sales value in 2023 increased by 65% compared to pervious year for the first time in two years. EVs also increased by 51%, but both the sales value and the increase rate of hybrid electric cars were higher than those of EVs. The auto-show held in D.C this January said hybrid electric cars attracted a lot of guests that day. I have never had a hybrid electric car before. If I have opportunity to get my car next time, I think I'll have to consider it as well on behalf of the next generation vehicles.

As I have mentioned before, it has been said that electric vehicles (EVs) are one of the most suitable candidates for the next generation vehicles. However, I came across an online article the other day that said that people all over the world have started questioning exactly how eco-friendly EV's really are. Many people already know that EVs have some problems such as an expensive price tag, a short driving range and a long charging time. On top of that, a very famous car maker "Volvo" reported the other day that carbon emissions from making EVs can be 70% higher than making petrol engine vehicles. Once batteries for EVs have reach the end of their lifespan, it seems like they also have trouble disposing them because they have many harmful substances. That's why the demand for EVs across the world just started declining. On the flip side, hybrid electric cars started drawing a lot of attention these days. In Japan, many people already use hybrid electric cars. That's because they not only can save gas expenses, but also have a more eco-friendly performance. In the U.S, the domestic sales revenue in 2023 increased by 65% compared to the pervious year for the first time in two years. EVs sales revenue also increased by 51%, but both the sales revenue and the rate of increase of hybrid electric cars purchased were higher than those of EVs. The auto-show held in D.C this January said hybrid electric cars attracted a lot of guests that day. I have never had a hybrid electric car before. If I have opportunity to get my car next time, I think I'll have to consider it for the next generation vehicles. You wrote very well. "Worn" is not the best word for EV batteries. There is nothing to wear out in the battery. It usually stops holding a charge or cannot be charged. So it's better to say, "reached the end of its lifespan" or "reached its end of life."
Sometime back, I read an article that said that some major automakers are able recycle 80% to 90% of the materials in EV batteries once these batteries reach the end of their lifespan. If this is true, it may be quite positive for EVs. :)
