# đȘđž Does âYa veremosâ Mean Yes⊠or No? đ€
Have you ever invited a Spanish friend somewhere and received the answer âYa veremosâ?
Does that mean yes? No? Maybe? đ
In Spanish, we sometimes use expressions to avoid giving a direct answer. Here are four you'll hear quite often!
đ§ 1. âYa veremosâ â We'll see
âÂżVienes a mi fiesta? (Are you coming to my party?)
âMmm⊠Ya veremos.
It might mean maybe⊠or it might be a polite way of saying no!
đ
2. âA ver si quedamosâ â We should meet up sometime
You bump into an old friend and say, âÂĄA ver si quedamos!â
Sounds like a plan, right? Well⊠don't be surprised if nobody actually arranges anything!
đ€· 3. âEn principio, sĂâ â In principle, yes
It's a yes, but with a little room for changing your mind later.
đ 4. âMe lo piensoâ â I'll think about it
Sometimes it means exactly that. Other times, it's a gentle way of avoiding an immediate no.
Of course, everything depends on the context, tone of voice, and relationship between the speakers!
### đŻ Your turn!
A Spanish friend invites you to a party, but you don't really want to go.
What would you say?
A) No, gracias. No me apetece.
B) Mmm⊠Ya veremos.
C) Me lo pienso y te digo algo.
D) Something else!
