There are 3 ways to pronounce -ED at the end of regular past verbs. It depends on the final sound, not spelling:
1ïžâŁ /t/ like "tea"
Use /t/ after voiceless sounds (no throat buzz).
đ§ Final sound = p, k, f, s, sh, ch â use /t/
đ Test it:
Put your hand on your throat.
âssssâ = no buzz â
âzzzâ = buzz â
đExamples:
talk â talked = /tÉËkt/
laugh â laughed = /lĂŠft/
jump â jumped = /dÊÊmpt/
đ§ Final sound = p, k, f, s, sh, ch â use /t/
2ïžâŁ /d/ like "dog"
Use /d/ after voiced sounds (throat vibrates).
đ§ Final sound = l, n, m, r, g, b, v, z, vowels â use /d/

3ïžâŁ /ÉȘd/ like "wanted"
Use /ÉȘd/ after verbs ending in /t/ or /d
đŹ We add a syllable to make it easier to say.
đExamples:
want â wanted = /ËwÉn.tÉȘd/
decide â decided = /dÉȘËsaÉȘ.dÉȘd/
