What was the funniest or the most embarrassing language mistake that you have ever made?
I said "I do" to my ex-wife.
at the party, I shouted "I'm fool" instead of "I'm full".
While in Japan I told my host dad that I liked my boyfriend's nipples when I was trying to say dimples.... That was pretty awful.
Well, my funnist moment is when I understood what Aegis's comment about.
It took me a few minutes to understand why it's a funny or embarrassing mistake.
When I studied English in Edimburgh many years ago, as a writing exercise the teacher asked us to write what we like to do in our spare time. So I wrote "I like to listen to The Queen", and when I read it aloud the teacher asked me "You really like to listen to The Queen?". After a moment of confusion I realized my mistake, so I had to explain that I wanted to say that I like to listen to 'the rock band named Queen'.
