Are you bored of grammar?

What's the difference between grammar and wife? Sometimes she is to difficult to understand sometime I felt that I always needed her, but in grammar I don't know if grammar love me like I did.

Grammar of course a something very important to me, so I can imagine If my friend say to me

Hey, the toilet is only for disabled elderly pregnant children.

Are you sure?

or

Hey, toilet is only for disabled, elderly, pregnant, and children.

Just in my opinion.

There's nothing more exciting to me than learning grammar! It is fun, relaxing and it will only benefit me for I will be expanding my structure and logic in the language!

to me its pointless (the basics are enough), most of the people don't even use correct grammer in their native languages.

I hated grammar as a kid - I clearly remember sitting in my 7th grade class and tuning out the teacher with all these pronouns, adjectives and all the rest.   Punctuation is another of my bete noires, I would not know how to use a semi colon if it bit me in the a**.    It is strange though as I have been complimented throughout my life for speaking well and just recently someone told me I had 'flowery' speech, someone I absorbed the words, the structure and the spelling without knowing what a semi colon does or the names of most grammatical terms.

Oh, and I hated math and gym too, so I became a foreign language major in Uni and a social worker when I am became 34.

Go figure.

Grammar itself is important. Without good grammar it's impossible to form understandable sentences. However, I think that the normal/traditional way of learning grammar is awful. There's a huge difference between knowing grammar at a shallow/conscious level and subconscious level. Please, let grammarians worry about what a subordinate clause is and other unimportant stuff. You've got to master fundamentals through listening and reading comprehensible materials and work your way up to the more difficult ones.
