You can watch the TV called 家有儿女.It refers to a rebuilding family and the happiness of their lives. You will know some Chinese custom .For learning languages,you will get a lot of practice about daily conversation.

I think this is a lovely song coming from a lady who had dedicated her whole life in this art（京韵大鼓）.  Not sure how it will help with your Mandarin, coz it's using sort of ancient words, but hopefully it can give you a motivation to your learning of the language : )

張藝謀早期的電影不錯喔，像是大紅燈籠高高掛、活著...都很經典。（至於2000年以後的商業大片就不用看了）
